To qualify for SIM [Chapter Name] membership, applicants should generally fit one of the following categories. Applications are reviewed by our Membership Committee to ensure alignment with SIM's mission and membership criteria.

Practitioner

Senior technology professionals responsible for influencing technology direction in their organization.

Typical titles: CIO, CTO, CDO, CISO, VP, or Director

Must lead or support corporate or divisional technology strategy.

Academic

Full-time faculty members making significant contribution to the technology field

Typical titles: Dean, Department Chair, Professor, Associate Professor, Adjunct Professor

Departments: Information Science, MIS, Computer Science, Computer or Software Engineering

Consultant

Leaders at the partner/principal level who influence technology direction for their company or their clients' company.

Typical titles: Partner, Principal Consultant, Contract CIO, Virtual CIO, VP/Director of Consulting

Must contribute to SIM [Chapter Name]'s growth through membership recruitment, sponsorship, and volunteering for two years prior to being invited to apply for membership.

Sales professionals, account executives, and business development professionals are not eligible

Other Technology Leaders

Senior executives in non-technology roles who impact strategic technology direction.
