Investing in Portland's Next Generation of Technology Leaders

At SIM PDX, we believe a stronger technology community starts with investing in the people who will shape its future. Through education, mentorship, scholarships, and hands-on experiences, we're helping students discover opportunities in technology, build confidence, and develop the skills to become tomorrow's leaders.

We're proud to connect experienced technology professionals with students and emerging talent throughout the Portland region. Because building a stronger industry isn't just about what we do today—it's about who we're helping prepare for tomorrow.

STEM Initiatives

The future of technology starts with today's students. SIM PDX supports STEM education and outreach programs that introduce young people to the many possibilities within science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Through interactive learning experiences, career exploration, and mentorship, we help students connect their interests and talents with real-world career opportunities. We also create opportunities for college students pursuing technology-related degrees to develop leadership skills while giving back to their communities.

Our goal is simple: inspire curiosity, build confidence, and help the next generation see what's possible.

You don't have to be a SIM member to make a difference! Everyone is welcome to participate in these outreach opportunities.

The transition from college to a technology career can be exciting—and a little overwhelming. Our College Mentoring Program connects area college students with experienced technology professionals who offer guidance, perspective, and encouragement as they navigate their early careers.

Through virtual and in-person conversations, goal setting, and relationship building, mentors help students develop the professional skills, confidence, and connections that can make a lasting difference.

What does a career in technology really look like? Our volunteers help students find out! SIM PDX partners with local schools to connect technology professionals with students through career fairs, classroom visits, and interactive conversations.

It's an opportunity to share real-world experiences, introduce students to career possibilities they may not have considered, and inspire the next generation of technology talent.

Talent and ambition shouldn't be limited by the cost of education. SIM PDX supports scholarship opportunities that help college students pursue degrees and careers in technology.

Through fundraising and community partnerships, we work to make educational opportunities more accessible and invest in the next generation of technology professionals.

Be Part of What's Next

You don't have to be a student or an educator to make a difference. Whether you're an experienced technology leader, a recent graduate, or simply someone who believes in opening doors for the next generation, there's a place for you in our outreach efforts.

Share your experience. Make a connection. Inspire what's possible.

Together, we're building a stronger future for Portland's technology community.

Interested in getting involved? We'd love to hear from you!
