SIM Indy's Summer Golf Outing
Sand Trap Social
SIM Indy’s Summer Golf Outing ‘Sand Trap Social’ brought members and friends together for a day with perfect weather. The sun stayed out from the first tee through the final putt, and the course was full of laughter, easy conversation, and the kind of company that makes an afternoon outdoors worth clearing the calendar for.
Golf was not the only reason everyone showed up. The golfing teams mixed with people who had known each other for years and people meeting for the first time, and by the back nine most groups had traded more stories than scores. That is the real value of an event like this. It gives people in the same professional community a room to build relationships outside of meetings and conference rooms, in a setting relaxed enough that the usual formality falls away.
The nineteenth hole carried the conversation and comrodery into the late afternoon. Once the clubs were put away, the group settled in to compare rounds, continue to build old and new relationships, and keep the conversations going that started on the fairways. It was less a wrap-up than a continuation, and it gave the day a second act that was just as enjoyable as the golf itself.
By the end, the outing had done what it always does. Another well-run event, another afternoon of good company, and another clear hit for the SIM Indy community.
